The process of getting dental implants

If you are a candidate for dental implants, you will undergo a thorough examination and evaluation at Smiles by Sands. We will need a full dental and medical history, and a full examination of the entire mouth and missing tooth area. x-rays will also be taken.

After Dr. Jamie Sands and Dr. Jason Sands assess your situation, a full treatment plan will be mapped out and discussed with you so you are aware of what the dental implant process will entail. Finally, under local anesthesia, your dental implants will be surgically placed in the jawbone.

The healing time for our patients varies from patient to patient. Healing time often depends on the quality and quantity of bone in the implant area and what type of implant is used. After adequate healing time occurs, the implant can be used to support dentures, a crown or a bridge.
