Tooth decay prevention

If given in adequate dosages, fluoride can greatly decrease the chances of having dental decay.  You will need fluoride supplements if your fluoridated water contains less than the ideal amount.  (Your local water district will can determine whether or not you should consider fluoride supplements).

If fluoride supplements are necessary, your child should start receiving them shortly after they are born and should continue until his or her second permanent molars come in (around 12 years old).

Children should be seen Dr. Jamie Sands and Dr. Jason Sands by the time they are 18 months old.
